On-Site Hard Drive Shredding in Dubai
Physical destruction of hard drives
Hard drive shredding is physical destruction of HDD media so the platters cannot be used as storage again. Organizations in Dubai use it when policy does not allow a wiped drive to leave the building, or when drives are failed, encrypted in an unknown state, or no longer needed as spare parts.
MAH Recycling provides physical destruction of hard drives as part of data destruction and ITAD. On-site destruction can be arranged when you need media treated at your location before remaining equipment is collected.
Who this service is for
This page is for teams that have a specific requirement to destroy hard disks, not only to wipe them.
- IT and security teams with a physical-destruction policy for HDDs
- Data-centre operators retiring disk shelves or failed drives
- Compliance teams that want destruction recorded against serial numbers
- Facilities teams holding boxed drives after a move or refresh

Process
Count and classify
Tell us how many drives you have, whether they are installed or loose, and whether serial numbers must be recorded.
Agree location
Destruction can be planned on site, or drives can be collected under chain of custody and destroyed after pickup. On-site work is used when readable disks must not leave the premises.
Physical destruction
Drives are physically destroyed so they cannot be returned to service as storage devices.
Records
An inventory and applicable destruction documentation can be issued after the work is done.
How this differs from wiping
Wiping follows NIST SP 800-88 aligned data sanitization processes and may be enough when a drive will be reused. Shredding is physical destruction. We will not describe wiping as shredding.
- Physical destruction of HDDs on site, when that scope is agreed
- Collection of drives with documented chain of custody, then physical destruction
- NIST SP 800-88 aligned wiping instead of shredding, if your policy allows reuse
Deliverables
- Agreed destruction location (on site or after collection)
- Physical destruction of listed hard drives
- Optional serial-number listing when labels are present
- Collection of remaining IT equipment if you also need ITAD or recycling
Reporting
Reports can list drive counts and, where captured, serial numbers, together with the destruction method. The format is agreed in the quotation.
Certificates
A certificate of data destruction can be provided for drives physically destroyed through this service.
